Vehicle Telematics

Why use vehicle telematics? In this day and age efficiency always features highly in the list of necessities for any company. Excess staff and non-essential overheads will undoubtedly already have been cut by those looking to enhance profitability. Increasing prices to clients is often simply not an option and therefore the key to improving the future prospects of a business may lie in getting as much as possible from existing assets and helping employees work as smartly as possible. Vehicle telematics not only allow the gathering and analysis of current performance data but also provide a platform for the continuous monitoring of events, highlighting any potential inefficiencies and areas where improvement can be made. As well as reducing costs through theft prevention, reduced vehicle wear and tear, improved fuel consumption and pro-active vehicle maintenance, the provision of data made possible by telematics also allows accurate allocation of cost to each individual job or contract. What can be achieved:-

  • Monitoring of speed, journey time, distance and driving style
  • Identification of harsh acceleration or braking
  • Measurement of accident deceleration
  • Engine management, including temperature and oil & fluid levels
  • Monitoring of fuel usage
  • Identification and restriction of driver access
  • Immobilisation of vehicle
  • Recording of the use of lights, seatbelts, tail lifts etc.
  • Monitoring of specific sensors such as salting levels for gritters, tipping for refuse collections etc.

From simple personal tracking through to detailed multi-vehicle performance analysis, we can provide the best system to match your specific needs. The units highlighted within this section represent just some of the elements which can be included within your total fleet management solution.
